Hi-
I just wanted to say I am a dance teacher out in Vinton, Iowa, likely a much smaller "world" than the "retterworld" of L.A. Still, I was thrilled to read your article in Dancer magazine, and am uplifted and inspired by your positive teaching message and spirit, and music. In my 15th anniversary year, I continue to teach some of your material, like "Making Memories" from your danceography DVD, which even my football linebacker 13 year old son loves dancing to. Thank you thank you for the many teaching ideas and the CLEAN, POSITIVE lyrics within your beautiful music. It is SO HARD to find appropriate and "cool" music that teaches values.
I have a studio of approximately 400 students in a small community of 5000 people in the middle of cornfields. We have dancing moms, dads, babies, and lots of children and teens. It is wonderful work, and our community is very supportive of dance and theatre arts. Every day, I love going to work and teaching my students and my own three children to become the best citizens they can be, and to follow their dreams. I believe what we do as dance teachers is so important, and touches every aspect of their life.
I wanted to share this, because you never know as teachers how your words and actions will be remembered. Many years back I recall a class at Dance Caravan in Cedar Rapids where Linda was teaching and some girls were goofing around and making fun of other dancers in the back. I did'nt know Linda at all, just that she was a Caravan teacher. Linda called them to the front, politely said that they must know all of the steps since they had time to talk, and then invited them to be her demonstrators for the ENTIRE rest of the hour!! They of course had no idea what was going on, and never did they work so hard. . . I thought how tactful and to the point that was. For some reason, I never forgot that moment.
I wish you guys continued success, and I will look forward to reading more about you and hearing/ordering more of your dance material.
Sincerely,
Joan Cooling

Hey Darryl,
It's Gail from Dance Concepts in Torrington, CT. Wish you were coming to our studio again this year. I learned so much when you came other years and I liked talking to a fellow Christian. I was the smallest adult dancer there and I will be celebrating 30 years of dance this year. I even started taking Tap 5 years ago, so it's 30 years of Jazz and 5 of Tap. I will be 51 this year and I hope to be dancing forever on earth and then I will dance for God up in Heaven.
Please come back to see us. I miss you and I miss seeing all the great dancing that you will be teaching all of us. Congrats on the cover and 6 pages in Dance magazine. You really deserve it.
Peace & Luv,
Gail - 02/14/2005l
