Welcome to Starlet Academy! The following is a list of important dates you will want to know about, including school closings, in class performances, and graduation! Please check your Starlet News for any monthly information and updates. August 25th (Monday) Classes start! September 1st (Monday) Studio Closed for Labor Day September 30th (Tuesday) Studio closed in observance of Rosh Hashanah October 1st (Wednesday) Tuition due for Monthly, Block, & Yearly Payment Plans (due on or before October 1st.) October 9th (Thursday) Studio closed in observance of Yom Kippur October 13-18 Bring A Friend to Dance Week October/November 18h Annual Feed the Homeless Thanksgiving Food Drive October 25th-31st (Saturday-Friday) Halloween In Class Performance Our first performance and party of the season. Performances are during the last 20 minutes of your child’s class time. Bring family, friends, and cameras for a performance, gifts, and treats. Don’t forget your costume! (Exception: 6/7’s do not wear costumes) October 25th & 27th (Saturday & Monday) First in Performance Series Tinkerbelle to visit Starlets Saturday October 25th at 10:15am And Monday October 27th at 4:15pm. Performances are during the last 20 minutes of your child’s class time. Bring family, friends, and cameras for a performance, gifts, and treats. November 8th (Saturday) Please submit Concert of Love costume fees. 3-6/7 year old Starlets only perform in Concert of Love. (2 year-old classes celebrate an in-class performance at end of year.) November 26th -29th (Wednesday-Saturday) Studio closed for Thanksgiving Break December 15th-20th (Monday-Saturday) Holiday In Class Performance 2 yr old Graduation Parties! – Session I Our second performance and party of the season. Performances are during the last 20 minutes of your child’s class time. Bring family, friends, and cameras for a performance, gifts, and treats. December 17 & 20 (Wednesday & Saturday) Second in Performance Series The Snow Queen to visit Starlets on Wednesday December 17 at 4:15pm And Saturday, December 20 at 11:15am Performances are during the last 20 minutes of your child’s class time. Bring family, friends, and cameras for a performance, gifts, and treats. December 22nd-January 3rd (Monday-Saturday) Studio closed for Winter Break January 1st (Thursday) Tuition due for Block Payment Plan due on or before January 1st. January 5th (Monday) Classes Resume February 9th-14th (Monday-Saturday) Valentine’s Day In Class Performance Our third performance and party of the season. Performances are during the last 20 minutes of your child’s class time. Bring family, friends, and cameras for a performance, gifts, and treats. February 12 & 13 (Thursday & Friday) Third in Performance Series A Fairy Princess to visit Starlets Thursday, February 12th at 10:30am Friday, February 13th at 2:15pm *Times subject to change February 17th (Tuesday) Studio Closed for Student Free Day. No classes will be held. (No need for make-ups; see Studio Policy Handbook) March 1 (Sunday) Starlet Parent Orientation for Concert of Love 2 p.m. March 2 (Monday) Starlet Parent Orientation for Concert of Love 10 a.m. March 7th (Saturday) Tickets for Concert of Love go on sale. You may purchase tickets at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Box Office. Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 12 Noon-5:00 p.m.; closed Mondays. In person purchases only. No phone orders. Performances are during the last 20 minutes of your child’s class time. Bring family, friends, and cameras for a performance, gifts, and treats. 6/7’s will receive a Spring gift—they will be working on their Concert dance) Fourth in Performance Series An Arabian Queen to visit Starlets Friday, April 3rd at 3:15pm and Thursday, April 9 at 4:15pm erformances are during the last 20 minutes of your child’s class time. April 10th-18th (Friday-Saturday) Studio closed for Spring Break April 26 (Sunday) Starlet Parent Orientation for Concert of Love 2 p.m. May 1 - May 31 Bun Month! Dancers are required to wear hair in a bun to ALL classes. May 18th –May 23rd (Monday-Saturday) In-Class Dress Rehearsals for Concert of Love. Bring costumes; wear hair and make-up! May 18th -19th (Monday-Tuesday) Priority Registration for Starlet Academy (ages 2-6/7) May 18th -23rd (Monday-Saturday) 2 year old Graduation Parties! – Session II May 25th (Monday) Studio closed for Memorial Day June 3rd-4th (Wednesday & Thursday) Dress Rehearsals 3, 4/5, 6/7, - - Concert of Love 2009 See Studio Policy Handbook for more details. June 5th-6th (Friday & Saturday) Concert of Love 2009 See Studio Policy Handbook for more details. Please note: Your Starlet will perform in only in one Concert and attend one dress rehearsal. Your Starlet’s show date will be announced in November. June 8th -13th (Monday-Saturday) Starlet Academy Graduation Parties for 3, 4/5& 6/7-year-old classes. Don’t miss this event. A wonderful finale to your child’s dance year. Starlets receive certificate and trophy. Invite family and friends for special performance. Starlets should wear Concert of Love costume for photo and video opportunities! June 13th (Saturday) Last day of class for all Starlets and R.A.D. Students. Summer theme camps—detailed information will be available in January 2009.
